Hand carved mammoth tusk of the Great Northern train.
This train made from 18,000-25,000 year old mammoth tusk from eastern Russia, item was tested by the U.S. Dept.
of Fish and Game when it enter the U.S. All work, over 400 man hours, is made from tusk material.
The train is approximately 20 inches long, 4.5 inches in height and 3.5 in depth, original train weighed some
475 tons. The track stand, made from a special wood from eastern Russia, hand made is 22 inches long, 6 inches tall and 3.5 in depth.
Original train was made by The Balduin Locomotive Works, style was that of Mallet type and was produced in 1930.
