This lacquer box by Yelena Khomutinnikova, from Fedoskino, is of the Snowmaiden and Lel...their romance in a Russian Village. The background has mother of pearl shinning through for an excellent detail. The trim is in a deep purple. The photos do not show the detail and excellent colors that Yelena has produced, this was a work from 1999. Size is 4.5 by 2.75 by 1 inch.
