This wonderful lacquer box by Balinina is based on a winter scene in an old Russian Village. The people all gather to sell or trade their items in a market like atmosphere. The snow, the children and the Golden Somavar, along the many dressed costumes of the times. Excellent colors with a detail that seems to come alive.....a nice work of art.
